Bio Incksalonius is hip hop. Her second studio EP, Extra Estra bears witness to this fact. A multi-talented Emcee/Writer, Incks rises above the common to strive for the exceptional. Hailing from Flatbush, the heart of Brooklyn, Incks has been working towards the release of Extra Estra after touring in Amsterdam & Belgium. "Extra Estra" is an EP I put together because I felt there were things women always thought of saying but never had the nerve to do so. When I was in Rotterdam, it dawned on me that there were women who always felt this way and I wanted to put these thoughts into song..." Never satisfied with following others, Incks blazes
trails and continues to leave her indelible mark on hip hop. In
2004, she became the first woman to win the beat battle with BanginBeats.com. She
has performed on both sides of the Atlantic including the Wetlands (NYC),
Grants Tomb, Nuyorican Poets Cafe (NYC), Baggot Inn (NYC), The
Five Spot (Brooklyn and Philadelphia), Theater
Romein (Leeuwarden,NL) Bitterzoet and Paradiso (ADam, Netherlands). On the Brooklyn scene for years, Incks has always been a student of the industry. Having learned that freedom comes from ownership, she founded Earmax Records in 1999 with producing-partner DJ Obah. Her first EP, Push, released independently in 2000, gained substantial exposure both in the US and abroad. Buoyed by the support she received, Incks was even more convinced that real music still touches the soul. The debut single from Extra Estra, "Pimpstress", has been generating buzz on both sides of the Atlantic. She was invited and recently performed several dates in Belgium and the Netherlands with The Proov, a Dutch hip hop trio, after one member of the group heard Rap Music off of the LP "Press Play" (now available on cdbaby.com!). Earning a reputation for delivering fire, Incks has been invited to bless other artists projects. She is a featured performer on Shus Shusic (2005), The Proovs Battle Mode (2005), Krewcials 25/8 (BBE, 2003), B-Gyrl.coms compilation CD B-Gyrl4Life, along with collaborating with many International Artists. In addition, she has just started RPM (Real Phresh Music) with her Dj/Producing partner Dj Silent as well as pushing ahead with her film career. She has worked on "The Art of Love & Struggle" with Ladies On The Mic, produced by Hank Shocklee (Bomb Squad) and Jo-Anna Nina. Next up for this rising star is a promotional tour in support of the first single "Pimpstress" & "Rap Music (rmx)". "Extra Estra" will be released on her new indie label Real Phresh Music (RPM) 2007... Constantly building on her foundation, Incks star is still rising. |
