Bio

The North Carolina native known as Sum Majere is all Southern charm, crafted mic skill, and perhaps the most genuine songwriter hip-hop has ever produced. With a style unprecedented, Sum has been performing for the last ten years across the nation with the likes of The GZA, Wu-Tang Clan, Common, Cannibal Ox, Rolls Royce, Little Brother, The Dalai Lama, MF Doom, Dead Prez, Saul Williams, Aceyalone, C-Rayz Walz, and a number of others. The sum of his parts is equal chunks bluesman, dark poet, drunken party rocker and energetic thinker. An enormous work ethic and desire to do something that’s never been done before drive him to make music that’s experimental, colorful, fundamental and entertaining. Consequently he and his crew, The VJC, have been likened to OutKast and The Pharcyde, but you will still have trouble finding a box to put him in. Releasing the chart-topping single ‘Ninjas&Flies’ in 2006 through VJC Recordings, he cemented a presence on college radio. Since then ears have been burning for what’s next, and he's just getting started. Those with open minds, expect Sum to become one of the great creative forces of this era. The Lil Folk
SumKid Majere, the bi-coastal emcee/writer/entertainer releases yet another creation that debunks any inkling of thought that 'Hiphop Is Dead'. 'The Lil Folk', is the only proof you need to disprove such foolishness. This album will dust you off and set you on the path to perfect peace, while simultaneously allowing you to entertain multiple debaucherous pleasures. It is the maraschino cherry drenched in your favorite flammable solution. The solution to all that ails you. Buy it!
