Unstoppable

'Crunk' has taken- not only the dirty south by storm- but rap music by storm. With thick accented party jams to t-shirt twisting anthems everyone knows whats up in the dirty dirty. But I came across a disc recently that reminded me [and refreshed] that 'crunk' is not ALL that resides in the south.

Dirty Harry, hailing from the blue grass of Kentucky, shows us with his new release 'Unstoppable' that there still is new/refreshing sounds coming up from below- and with his methodic and THUNDERING voice- Harry can make you nod your head, relax and think, unwind and sip, and of course make you enjoy good hip hop music.

The album starts out with the spoken word genius - Conscious. 'He's horrible. He's awful'...This intro made me laugh when I first heard it. Good way to start off a disc.

2. Oh No [Ft. Trulala] - When I first listened to this album in full my frist reaction was DAMN! Dude has one of the best voices I've ever heard. Its just so powerful and chill. Oh No is a dope ride through a catchy, relaxed beat accented well by some R & B vibes coming from the lungs of Trulala. Trulala is good for 1 or 2 tracks but one of my problems with this album is that they appeared a little too much. If you are a fan of R & B however- you will enjoy it. 3.5/5

3. I love you [ft. D. Hollingsworth] - Fans of underground hip hop usually indulge in twisty rhyme schemes, metaphors, etc. Dirty Harry is more on the simple tip but he MAKES you listen. I Love You is laced with a old school gangster type vibe- Hollingsworth has a odd voice but is kind of enchanting at the same time...good for all you dro heads. Decent track. 3/5

4. We Got That Fire [ft. Trulala] - One of 'Unstoppables' notables is the production. Dope beats- especially for you south cats. Trulala kinda offsets this track- they could've been left off of it. Harry keeps it consistent- still spittin' with that thunder. 3/5

5. Back to The Rich City - Spoof on Guns N Roses hit 'Paradise City' - Dirty Harry rips an ode to his hometown with my favorite song on this disc. Really dope song especially if you were a fan of the original. 4/5

6. Take Me Home [ft. Trulala] - 'Henny got my mind spinning but I need another cup'- Ha I hear that!! This is Harry's signature kind of track. Upbeat instrumental- something you can say sway too. Im still not a fan of Trulala...3.5/5

7. On My Way [ft. Trulala] - Another thing about this album is the way each track flows into one another. A problem with releases today is the flow of the ENTIRE disc- a lot of people skip because they are looking for a sound to listen to at that certain time and it skips from one type to another- Harry keeps it consistent without being repeatitive...Its REFRESHING, easy on the ears, and makes you want to peep the whole disc instead of skipping tracks.

Another dope beat [Who does Harry's production is what I wanna know!?] - The past 3 tracks make you want to poor some brew in a cup and eat some bbq outside in the summer. Another thing about Harry- though he could use some progression on his lyrics- he keeps growing on you after each listen. 3.5/5

8. W.M.D. [ft. Trulala] - Enough Trulala man. Harry would be so much doper without em, in my opinion. And way too much of em on this track...I cant listen anymore. 2/5

9. Like Fingaz When They Pull- This is another track Harry sounds DOPE on but doesnt do enough of on this album. Comes a lot harder over a bass thumping beat. Definitely something to play in your ride... 3.5/5

10. Full Speed Ahead - Beat is FIRE. I think you all will notice Harry is so much nicer without the R&B backup vocals. A true solo artist at heart. Another funny thing that I learned about Harry as I was listening to this album-- I found out he was white. I hate to pull out the race thing here - but when you hear that voice you expect some Ruben Studdard looking
motherfucker, you know? 3/5

11. Unstoppable [outro] - Dope outro beat- Good way to sign off. Guest starring Haze who I thought was SICK!!! Definitely would like to hear more of him- Good contrast between him and Harry- makes a dope sound. He isssss unstoppable!!!

DINGLEBERRIES IN MY SOUP! aaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahhahaha no he just didnt...

Bonus tracks from Harry on the way...

13. We Got that Fire [Remix]- I like the Remix a lot better than the original but it couldve been mixed better. Dope track though guest starring- Dave Iszarelli and J-Mpala. 4/5

14. Take me Home [Remix]- Seriously, I cant handle no more Trulala.
Harry's guest appearances dont outshine the Kentucky Artist but i think they
really accent him well. For his next release Id like to hear a lot more Haze
and Dave... 3.5/5

15. Baby Mammas - This isnt a Dirty Harry track...Its an artist dubbed 'Swerve'. Dope sound- Good lyrics- Definitely like to hear more of him! Dope track. 4/5

16. Aight Stop [ft. Sense] - Beat is kind of akward and its distracting. One of Harry's better tracks lyrically... 3/5

17. The Life and The Dream - interlude... Reminded me of Devin the Dude.

18. Woke up Sunday Morning [ft. Poo] - Dope track and whats more
impressive it was a freestyle! 3/5

Final Word: Dirty Harry hits you off proper with a consistent release. I think Harry has TONS more potential and can make a better album - but this is a good stepping stone towards a bright future. Dirty's voice carries this album along with the production. Harry could've done off with as much Trulala as there was- but for R&B fans this will be a highlight.

Im hoping on Harry's next release he collabs with Haze and the other guests that appeared on this album more. I enjoyed listening to 'Unstoppable' - especially after a long day at work and clutching a cold one. Cheers.

Final Rating: 3/5

Fans of: Bubba Sparxxx, Scarface, Big Gipp will enjoy 'Unstoppable'
